Yuba Sutter indo American Business Association Awards Youth Driving Scholarship Winners
Yuba City, CA, February 22, 2013 – The Yuba Sutter Indo American Business Association held its first Youth Driving Scholarship Award Dinner on Friday, February 22 at the Curry Leaf Restaurant in Yuba City.
The recipients of the award were named earlier in the month and invited, along with their families, to the awards ceremony held on the 22nd. The Organization’s official judges were also present at the dinner to hand out the awards along with Sonia Cheema, the YSIABA’s vice president. “The kids and their families were very excited, it was a very big accomplishment for them.” says Cheema. “They were very excited to be able to start their driving training and then be able to get their licenses.” Recipients brought family members such as Grandmas and Brothers to the ceremony to share in their awards. “The family members were very happy for their teen and grateful for the Organization’s award and help,” stated Surinder Metha, past president of the Yuba Sutter IABA. “It was so wonderful to meet them all and see them smile.”
The Organization’s sole purpose is to help the youth of the community by helping pay for their driver’s education through the Youth Driving Scholarships. It’s members contribute towards the scholarships from their various businesses, located in the Yuba Sutter and surrounding areas.
The Organizations is now accepting the next set of applicants for the awards that will be announced some time in June. Youth are encouraged to visit the Organization’s website at www.YubaSutterIABA.org for information and to download a packet of information and rules on how to submit their application.
